"Mulgi Shikli Pragti Jhali" said in India, true in America!!!

"Mulgi Shikli Pragti Jhali" - yesterday only I saw these words on back of a auto rickshaw, crawling through the crowded road of Mumbai and by the time I reach office I saw this news, "Women set to outnumber men at work in America", making headlines.  It is an example for all of us to realize that how much important it is to empower the women in our country.  We all, who boast of being an informed, educated, tech savvy netizen of the nation, can make a difference for our own nation by giving equal rights to women in society. We can do many things without even making any effort :

1. Respect for Women : Women are coming out of their homes and taking on every opportunities but are we giving them the respect that we offer to men? Are we encouraging them enough so that they can be role model for others in the society? Why women success is often related to the fact that they are fairer sex and they get it not because of their ability?

2. Girl's Education: This is a very important step towards empowering the women in our society. We need to provide the same set of education opportunity to a girl child as we provide for a boy. We need to believe that a kid's gender doesn't come in his/her way of understanding of subject.

3. Security for Women: This is one of the core issues that we need to address if we want more and more participation of women in society. Parents are afraid of sending their girls out and girls loose their confidence. Eve teasing, harassment, sexual abuse are detrimental to the efforts of empowering women.

4. Equal responsibility in the family : I often hear the conversation in which it is debated again and again if women should continue to work after marriage/child birth? is this really a point to discuss? is it a responsibility of wife alone? why women should sacrifice their career? We all should share the responsibilities of a family and should see importance of their career in the same light in which we see ours.

There have been numerous attempts to educate people about importance of Girl child education and this news will surely boost up the morale of the groups working towards it.

I am happy for America and I am confident we in India will achieve the same feat in 21st Century.

Proud to be Indian :)

Cheers!!!

Amit

Coffee at Barista, Andheri!!!

first sip! wow! Second sip! amazing! onwards! you made my day Barista! These were my first reaction when I was sipping through the Barista Blast. Coffee shop is next to shoppers stop on S.V road. Place is really good and refreshing. Even its just on side of road, the way it has been designed it isolates itself from the noise of city. A small place with few chairs, you can indulge yourself with the exquisite cold coffee. I opted for Barista blast and it was really beautiful. Beautifully designed. Yes! coffee also gets a makeover here. One advice on sipping through this blast, they will supply a long spoon with the coffee, don't use that. Just use your sipper, keep rotating through the glass, slowly, slowly. Coffee will get thick with the ice-cream in it. WOW, I can feel its taste even now.... Go! grab a cuppa for yourself! and feel relax. ...and if your girl friend is crazy about ice-creams, she will find this place beautiful. Ice-cream parlor is on the other side of road and its a good option after a good coffee!
